Back-to-School Night, Wednesday 24 September

On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, we will be having a Back-to-School Parent Night, beginning at 6:00 PM. We would be very pleased if you would accept this invitation to visit with us.

This year, due to insufficient space in our auditorium, and to minimize the amount of your walking about the campus, we ask that parents report directly to their child’s first period by 5:55 PM. The cafeteria will be open at 5:30 PM and there you will find handouts/volunteer requests and food for purchase for both SOTA and the Academy. You should have your child’s schedule, see below, but we will have duplicates available in the cafeteria. At 5:55 PM the program will begin with a welcome from the Principal over the PA system. After this welcome, teachers will explain their course curriculum, expectations, grading policy, and answer general questions.  If you have any particular or specific concerns or questions regarding your child, we encourage you to telephone his/her counselor at (415) 695-5700 for an appointment to discuss the issue.  

We also ask you to visit the School Site Council and PTA Tables located in the cafeteria. This year is an election year for parents to become members of the School Site Council. The Council is a decision making council for school site academic programs and budgeting. We invite you to join so that this can become a strong, representative group of parents.  

Please have your child fill out his/her class schedule below and bring it with you on Back-To-School Night in order to follow his/her program. I look forward to seeing you.
